BRIG BAY CITY. - This vessel which was dismasted in the gale of the 29th,
below Mackinac, arrived here today, in tow of the OSWEGO. Judging from her
appearance the squall must have been a severe one. Her masts were snapped as if
they had been mere pipe stems. Her yards are used up, and her sails are badly
torn, but with the exception of some little damage to her rails, caused by the
falling masts, she is otherwise uninjured. She is owned by H.T. Braddock & Co.
of Saginaw, and is loaded with 17,900 bushels of wheat. It is not yet
determined whether she will repair here or Buffalo. - Detroit Advertiser.
