Propeller MINERAL ROCK, ran ashore on Manitou Island, Lake Superior, jettisoned 20 tons of copper, got off, and into Copper Harbor. Property loss $2,550.

ACCIDENT TO THE MINERAL ROCK. - One day last week as the propeller MINERAL ROCK was on her way down Lake Superior, she ran on the Manitou Island, and knocked a hole through her bottom. After throwing over some twenty tons of copper, she got off, and went into Copper Harbor. Her damages are slight. - Detroit Tribune.

The IRON CITY, Capt. J. E. Turner, arrived this morning at ten o'clock and furnishes the following memoranda : Left Ontonagon at 5 A.M. Saturday and ran for Copper Harbor, where she remained until Sunday morning. The tug ECLIPSE was there, waiting for fair weather to raise the copper thrown overboard by the MINERAL ROCK near the Manitou Island. ...... (part)
