ARRIVAL OF THE SCHOONER S. J. HOLLEY. -- The schooner S. J. HOLLEY, Capt.. Robert Hays, arrived here yesterday about 11 A. M. The HOLLEY it will be recollected, was reported ashore at the North Manitou. From Capt. Hays we gather the following particulars : - The HOLLEY left Chicago on the 10th inst., with a cargo of wheat, bound for Oswego. On the night of the 12th inst., during a heavy snow squall she went ashore on North Manitou Island. Lights that were seen and supposed to be the vessels at anchor, proved to be the fishing shanties on the beach, by which the master was deceived as to his whereabouts. About 5,000 bushels of wheat were thrown overboard, and on the evening of the 14th, by means of purchases and a derrick the vessel was got afloat, and on the morning of the 16th left for this city, having a good run down, not making any water. The vessel will go into dry dock for repairs. Much credit is due Capt. Hays for the dispatch with which he got his schooner afloat. -- Detroit Advertiser.
