COLLISION CASE. -- We cut the following from the Detroit Free Press of the 11th. inst.: -- "The United States District Court, now in session, is engaged in trying the important collision case between the propellers WABASH VALLEY and MINERAL ROCK, which occurred on Lake Huron in September last. The former vessel was owned in Chicago, and was bound, and was bound from Port Sarnia to that place. The MINERAL ROCK was one of our Lake Superior fleet, and was bound from here to Portage lake. The WABASH VALLEY was sailed by Captain S.W. Morgan, under whose charge she was recently lost near Muskegon, Lake Michigan by mistaking that light for the light of Grand Haven.
"Geo. B. Hibbard, of Buffalo, and Alfred Russell, of this city, appear as counsel for the MINERAL ROCK, and H.M. Emmons and John S. Newberry, of this city, for the WABASH VALLEY. The amount involved being large, the case will attract much attention.
