Coloured print of the Richelieu and Ontario Navigation Company steamboat ALGERIAN in the Long Sault Rapids. One of a series of four Notman photographs of this passage.
Notes
The ALGERIAN was a rebuilt in 1874 of the BAVARIAN (1873), in turn a rebuild of the KINGSTON (1855). She was renamed CORNWALL in 1904. Postcard has undivided back. This image appears in Walter Lewis and Rick Neilson's The River Palace, 2008.
