Capt. Dorr received the following dispatch this morning:
      Port Dalhousie, C. W., May 1, 1861
Capt. E. P. Dorr, Buffalo
Barque NIAGARA ashore on the first reef below Port Colborne. Send a good tug to her at once.
      Alexander Muir

The barque NIAGARA is owned by Mr. Muir, of Port Dalhousie, Canada. She is a fine vessel, valued at $18,000, and has made a voyage to Europe. She was from the west, grain loaded. The tug RELIEF has gone to her, and will doubtless get her off.

      Port Colborne, May 1, 1861
The bark NIAGARA had about four feet of water in her hold at noon, when the tug left her. She was then about two feet out of water forward, and the water was still gaining on her. She is loaded with wheat, and I hear that there is no insurance on the vessel. She belongs to the Messrs. Muir, of Port Dalhousie.

Since the above was received we learn that this vessel is full of water; there is $22,000 insurance on her cargo of wheat which will prove nearly a total loss. The propeller RELIEF is there, and will doubtless get the vessel off without much damage to her. She is a stout Canadian built vessel, valued at $18,000, and has no insurance on her.
