SCHOONER S.H. LATHROP SUNK. - By a dispatch to N.K. Whitney, Esq., of this city, from Capt. Earl, of the schooner S.H. LATHROP, we learn that the bark STURGIS ran into the LATHROP last night on Lake Erie, and sunk her. She was bound from this port to Cape Vincent, and had on a cargo of 18,800 bushels of corn, shipped by Mr. Whitney. The cargo was insured. - Chicago Tribune

THE CLARA - The steamer CLARA has been chartered by Guy F. Hinchman & Co., to proceed to the wreck of the schooner S.H. LATHROP, sunk near Point au Pelee, and recover, with the aid of a diver, her sails, light spars, and such of the rigging as is possible to clear from the hull and spars. The CLARA will take with her a scow in tow, on board of which the above effects will be laden and brought to this city. -- Detroit Free Press.

LATHROP, which during the early part of the season met with a disaster by collision, therby sinking her, and which was subsequently raised and brought to this port for repair, has been rebuilt and is again in commission, a better vessel than first launched. - Detroit Free Press.
