LAKE DISASTER--The brig
Amagonloaded with flour and corn while attempting to enter the portin the gale on Tuesday, drifted on the beach near the pier but was not in great danger.
Rough and Readystruck the south pier on entering port, and afterwards drifted on the north pier. She was extricated from her position.
Marionran on to an anchor near the end of the pier and sunk.
Gazettecame into port on Wednesday night, with her foreboom, and jaws of her fore gaft carried away.
