Owen Sound Dry Dock

Owen Sound, April 12. - Your correspondent was to-day invited by Captain John Simpson to inspect the new large contrifual pump that the Dry-Dock Company have lately had made for them by Messrs. M. Beatty & Sons, of Welland. The tug W.T.Robb and steamer A.Neff were being docked for repairs. The time occupied in pumping, after closing the gates, until the dock was emptied, was three hours and twenty minutes, being an average of over 10,0000 gallons a minute. This large pump will be valued by vessel owners using the dock.
