Report of the United States Coast Guard
SCHOONER MARY COLLINS ON WHALE'S BACK. - Capt. Faith reports the schooner MARY COLLINS upon Whale's Back Shoal, about six miles W.N.W. from Death's Door. The shoal is an exceedingly dangerous one, and unless the weather proves very favorable the chances of getting off the stranded vessel may be considered slim. The tug G.W. WOOD called at Milwaukee at midnight, Saturday, for an 11 inch Worthington pump, on her way to render assistance. The COLLINS is loaded with railroad iron or coal, for Green Bay.
