The schr. MIRANDA bound from Bay City to Detroit with a cargo of lumber ran aground on Port Austin reef on Sunday, during thick weather. She lies in 8 ft. of water, and was pounding hard on Sunday. The tug ECLIPSE was expected to go to her relief last evening.

On Saturday the tug FRANK MOFFATT arrived and having in tow a lighter which was loaded with the effects of the ill-fated schooner MIRANDA which went down on Port Austin Reef, which has been given up, as from the position in which she lies it will be impossible to get her off.

THE MIRANDA. - According to intelligence received at Detroit, the schooner MIRANDA, ashore on Port Austin reef, has been abandoned. She was being dismantled, and left to the underwriters. The vessel had begun to break up, but it was expected that a portion of the cargo would yet be saved.

DISASTER TO THE TUG ECLIPSE. - The tug ECLIPSE, which left Detroit recently with steam pump for the schooner MIRANDA, ashore on Port Austin reef, on reaching Port Huron collided with the tug BALLANTINE. Her stern was knocked off, which caused her to leak badly. Her mission was turned over to the tug BROCKWAY, which conveyed the wreckers to their destination.
