MARINE DISASTERS. - Rochester, Oct. 7. The schooner ATLANTIC from Port Hope with lumber went ashore at one o'clock this morning, 7 miles above this port, Genesee, and sunk in 9 feet of water. She is supposed to be badly damaged. The schooner DEFIANCE, from Oswego, with a cargo of coal for Rogers & Co., St. Catharines, Ont., also went ashore at the same place about midnight and was scuttled by the crew. Both crews are ashore all safe. Lights on shore were taken for the Genesee Harbor lights and thus the disaster.
