      Lakes during 1871, Capt. J.W. Hall


ABANDONED. - Mr. Quinn, the submarine diver, reports the schooner GEM as beyond recovery, and she has been accordingly abandoned. The work of dismantling her has already commenced. The GEM saw nineteen years service.
