THE VALUE OF NAVAL HULKS
Good Offers for Decayed and Useless war Ships

Washington, Sept. 24. - Proposals were opened at the Navy Department to-day for the purchase of certain vessels whose names have been stricken from the navy register and whose sale is thought to be for the best interests of the United States. The bids were as follows:

.... Wooden sailing ship New Orleans, at Sacket's Harbor - Appraised value $200; Alfred Wilkinson Jr., Syracuse, $427.50. ...
