Dear Sir,
In reply to yours of the 8th. inst. about the BELLE of Hamilton. I had sold her before she became a total loss, the way it happened, she was on her way from Oswego to Belleville with a load of coal and she sprung a leak and had to be beached at Indian Point, and she was taken from there to Kingston by the John Donnelly Wrecking Co, that is about 13 years ago, and her bottom lies near the cotton mill at Kingston now.
As for her Certificate, I could not tell what became of it, probably lost when she was lost at the Point as her cabin was under water.
Yours Truly
Capt. Wm. Farrington
