CHOCTAW Steamer, collided with Steamer WAHCONDAH in a thick fog, July 12, 1915 off Presqu'Isle, Lake Huron. The CHOCTAW was hit between No. I and No. 2 hatches, and sank in 22 minutes in 200 feet of water. Total loss. Crew rescued and taken aboard WAHCONDAH. Value of vessel estimated at $85,000. Insured for $80,000.
