MILWAUKEE Barge of 352 Tons Reg. Home port, Montreal and 11 years of age, bound from Charlotte to Kingston, foundered near the Real Duck Islands in a gale of November 10,1883. She was a total loss with 7 lives. Amount of loss Hull $7,000. Cargo $2,000

The master of the barge MILWAUKEE foundered on Lake Ontario with six men, was C. Langevin, who leaves a wife and 6 children, the youngest being but a few days old. One of the crew was Adelis Foster.

Nothing has been seen of the missing barge MILWAUKEE except a few pieces of oak with spikes in them, supposed to be part of the wreck. She has no doubt gone down with all hands, as every place to which she would likely drift with a northwest wind has been searched.
