GARIBALDI Steamer (?) of 20 years of age, 166 Tons Reg. Home port, Hamilton, bound from Echo Lake to Point Edward, stranded in a gale on Sister Rocks, Lake Huron, July 18,1883.

NOTE:- the Marine & Fisheries casualty, gives the vessel as a steamer, when in fact it was a schooner. No account of this stranding is given in the other 1883 Casualty Lists. It was however got off, as the GARIBALDI was a total loss in 1887. The Sister Rocks on Lake Huron, could be Sister Rock, Georgian Bay, (east shore) there is also a Echo Bay in the area. ??? The Casualty is Suspect
