      . . . . .

Disaster- The schooner OUTWARD BOUND, Captain Prenderville, which sailed from this port on Sunday last, when opposite Racine, was struck by the gale, which tore her mainsail, foresail, and jib to shreds. Being thus in a crippled condition, she became partly unmanageable, and rolled in the trough of the sea so badly that the mainmast was broken short off at the deck, and went by the board, carrying the rigging with it, and breaking the foresail gaff. Notwithstanding the crippled condition of his vessel, Capt. Prenderville brought her safely into port on Tuesday night last- Chicago Dem.
