Platina (Schooner), aground, 13 Nov 1848
- Full Text
The schooner PLATINA, of Detroit, run ashore on Monday last, near the mouth of the Saugeen river, on the Canada coast of Lake Huron. It was a westerly wind, and as the vessel had only a few barrels of flour on board, she was too light to withstand the storm, the crew are all safe, and we understand the schooner has sustained comparatively little damage.
