The schr. E. FITZGERALD, with coal from this port for Chicago, went ashore yesterday one mile north of Point Pelee light, but was lying easy. Captain Langdon went to Detroit for assistance.

The schr. E. FITZGERALD is ashore at Point au Pelee, Lake Erie, loaded with coal for Chicago. She measures 297 tons, classes A2, and is valued at $10,000. Haley of Buffalo, a trimmer, is the owner. The hull insurance, $7,500 is in the Boston Marine.
LATER:- A despatch received here this morning says that the tug OSWEGO arrived at Detroit with the schr. FITZGERALD Sunday. The vessel was pulled off in 12 hours.

The speedy release of the FITZGERALD is largely due to the energy of Capt. Dan Langdon, who worked day and night to get her into safe quarters. Capt. Langdon, although a young man, has a good record, the mishap of last Friday being the first accident of any kind that has happened to a vessel in his command.
