Clinton (Propeller), broke pumps, 1 Sep 1883

Description
Full Text

The Propeller CLINTON encountered Friday's gale off the Manitous, with her tow GIBRALTER, GRIMSBY and CLYDE. Her air pumps gave out and she was compelled to let go her barges. They gave themselves up for lost. The CLINTON considered herself lost also but was finally pumped out and found safety in the harbor here, where she was repaired. Her lost tow sailed in on Tuesday and together proceeded to their destination. -- Cheboygan Report.
