Port Huron, Mich., Nov. 21. - The fine steamship H.J. JEWETT went ashore with her consort HAZARD on the reef 6 miles below Sand Beach Harbor and is in a most dangerous position exposed to all winds from North to South. The tugs KATE MOFFAT and WINSLOW went to her assistance with steam pumps and hawsers. The HAZARD is on also. --- Inter Ocean.

The steamship H.J. JEWETT, towing the schooner G.S. HAZARD, ran ashore Tuesday night near Sand Beach Harbor during a thick fog. Both boats wer bound for Chicago. The lates report from the JEWETT says she is on a rocky bottom and is making considerable water. The tug WINSLOW from Detroit is expected here with two steam pumps for her. The tug KATE MOFFAT left Southampton for the Jewett. She also has two pumps and a full wrecking crew for her. - Port Huron Report.

The steamship H.J. JEWETT, which stranded a few days since near Sand Beach, arrived here on Saturday, and as soon as a portion of her cargo is lightered, she will go into dock for overhauling. The nature or extent of her injuries cannot at present be determined, suffice to say they will amount to no inconsiderable sum. - Detroit Report.
