The prop. ECLIPSE, which a few days ago had her machinery removed at Cleveland and subsequently lost below Black River while in tow of the steambarge YOSEMITE, was another of the relics of bygone days. She was 620 tons burden, and was built at Buffalo by Frederick Jones in 1857, and for several years ran in the New York Central Railroad line. The past 2 years she has been serving as a steambarge, and was finally passed away, fortunately without the sacrifice of any lives. It would be gratifying if the same could have been written of other previously lost.
