COMMERCE Brig of 445 tons, owned at Cleveland by H.F. Merry. Bound from Marquette to Cleveland, August 1866, went ashore on a reef near Detour, Lake Huron. Loss to ship $3,800 insurance $200. Loss to cargo $1,000 insurance on cargo $700

      The Board of Lake Underwriters report the brig COMMERCE at Detroit, considerably damaged. She had been ashore near Drummond Island.

      ON A REEF. - The brig COMMERCE, which passed up on the 9th inst., met with a disaster which prevented her from continuing the voyage, and obliging her to return to this port for repairs. When near Detour she ran on a reef, doing serious damages to her bottom and dispacing her center-board. She arrived here on Wednesday evening, leaking badly, and will doubtless need extensive repairs. - Detroit Free Press, 17th.
