GREAT WEST No.1 Bark of 765 Tons, owned at Buffalo by Brown, Bound from Buffalo to Chicago, went ashore on Racine Reef, October 1866, vessel and cargo of 800 tons of coal a total loss. Loss to ship $30,000 insurance $20,000 Loss to cargo $8,500 insurance $4,000.

ASHORE. - We learn from a despatch received Wednesday afternoon by Wm. O. Brown, Esq., that the bark GREAT WEST No. 1, and the brig MECHANIC are ashore on the west side of Lake Michigan, between Racine and Chicago. The latter is light and the former had a cargo of 600 tons of coal.

DISMANTLED. - The bark GREAT WEST No. 1, has been divested of her outfit, masts, sails, rigging, &s., and the hull abandoned to the elements by the Underwriters. An unsuccessful atempt was made to sell her cargo of coal.
