Schooner COQUETTE, in collision with the Propeller COASTER near Oswego, July 1859. No damage amount given for COQUETTE, but $700 for the COASTER.

Collision. - On Saturday night last the schooner COQUETTE, bound for Oswego, came in collision with the Port Ontario screw packet COASTER, bound from that port to Genesee river, with a cargo of tan bark. The bow of the propeller was stove in, and she became waterlogged. The captain and crew came ashore in a small boat, and procured the services of a tug and the COASTER was towed into this port. The schooner experienced no material damage.

COLLISION. - On Saturday night the scow propeller COASTER, bound from Port Ontario for the Genesee River, with bark, collided just above this port, with the Canadian schooner COQUETTE, bound from Toronto for Oswego with lumber, demolishing the bow of the propeller and filling her full of water. The captain and crew and owner of the cargo, came ashore in the small boat, procured the tug J.H. BLOORE, and towed the propeller into port, which was kept afloat by the buoyancy of her cargo. The schooner received some slight damage. - Oswego Times.
