      . . . . .

The Schr. JOHN Q. ADAMS, Capt. Stanard, from Cleveland for this port, was capsized in a sudden squall off Grand River, on Monday last. She had a cargo of pork, flour, flaxseed and pig iron, consigned to Messrs, S. Thompson & Co., of this city. The captain and crew, we are happy to learn, were taken off the wreck by the Schr. COMET, which happened to be near her at the time. It is supposed that the schooner, with a considerable portion of her cargo will be saved.
