Buffalo (Propeller), collision, 30 Aug 1871

Description
Full Text

On the 30th. August 1871, the steamer R.N. RICE, of Detroit, and the propeller BUFFALO of Buffalo, had a slight collision in the river opposite Detroit. Both boats left the dock about the same time, intending to go down the river; the RICE from Detroit, and the BUFFALO from the Canada side, opposite, with a tow of barges. The RICE had turned around, and the BUFFALO was turning when they came together, the BUFFALO striking the RICE on the port quarter, breaking some of the joiner work of the latter.
