Alpena, Mich., Sept. 26. -- The schooner MAID OF THE MIST went ashore near Nine Mile Point yesterday; total wreck. Crew all saved and stripping the vessel today. The captain estimates his loss at $800.

      The schooner MAID OF THE MIST went ashore on 9 mile point on the 25th and is a total wreck. She is being stripped. She was an old craft, and had been considered as condemned.

      LOSS OF THE MAID OF THE MIST.
      On Wednesday the scow MAID OF THE MIST went ashore near Nine Mile Point, Lake Huron, and will prove a total wreck. The crew escaped, and on Thursday were engaged in stripping the vessel of everything of value. The MIST was owned by the captain, who places his loss at $800.
