Republic (Propeller), aground, 28 May 1881

The steamship REPUBLIC and two consorts, bound up, ran aground Saturday on the extreme end of Whitefish Point. The consorts will be got off easily, but the steamer will require considerable tug dredging. The tug W. D. CUSHING has gone to her assistance.
