Reindeer (Schooner), leak, 29 Oct 1887

Description
Full Text

Cheboygan.---The schooner REINDEER, ore laden, sprung a leak in Lake Huron Saturday and was rapidly sinking. Her rudder casing was damaged and allowed the water to come into the hold. Her flag was set at half mast, and the propeller BUFFALO, bound down, put about and remained by her until she reached here and signaled for a tug. The REINDEER was towed into smooth water in time to prevent foundering. The vessel was coated with ice half way up the rigging. She had lost her foresail and foreboom.
