Magnet (Steamboat), sunk, 13 Nov 1849

THE STEAMER MAGNET ASHORE. --- We learn by Mr. Darling, agent for the ADMIRAL, that the British iron steamer MAGNET, of the line between Kingston and Toronto, went ashore on Tuesday, while attempting to get into the harbor of Darlington. She sunk with about six feet of water in her hold. The MAGNET is a fine vessel of the largest class, and this accident will probably prevent her running any more this season, if she should be got off. The ADMIRAL brought down from Toronto on Wednesday, the pumps and other machinery necessary to remove her.---- Rochester Daily Advertiser.
