The CONSTITUTION on leaving here for the head of the lake yesterday, unfortunately struck on the shoal called Gull Island, between this and Port Hope, and remained there nearly the whole day, before she could be got off. The GREAT BRITAIN, COBOURG and St. GEORGE, are now we believe the only boats on this side of the lake which have as yet escaped that dangerous spot, surely our next legislature will remedy so crying an evil, by authorizing the erection of a light-house.
