Steamer SARATOGA, of 661 tons, built 1846 at Cleveland, stranded at Port Burwell, July 29, 1854. Considered a total wreck.

      The condition of the steamer SARATOGA, says the Cleveland Plain Dealer of the 3rd., at Port Burwell is critical. When the storm came up which wrecked her, she was moored along side of the Western pier, with her bows projecting out about forty feet. The force of the wind broke her bow lines and she drifted over the East pier, where she commenced thumping badly. Her stern lines were then unfastened, and her stern was allowed to drift over, being much the safest, when the sea broke over her, working her timbers and opening the seams till she filled with water. The boilers and engine will probably be saved, and the hull a total loss.

      STEAMER SOLD. --- The old steamer SARATOGA, with her machinery, tackle, and furniture, as she now lies in the harbor at Port Burwell, Canada West, was sold at auction, yesterday morning, by L.K. Pilmpton, at the Board of Trade rooms, on Central Wharf, for $4,000, to W.B.Scott, of Tonawanda. The terms were 20% down and the balance in four equal annual instalments. The purchaser we are informed intends transferring the machinery to the Ohio River.

NOTE.---engine of the SARATOGA was placed in the new steamer SEBASTOPOL. (see below, in the Buffalo Democracy, dated Monday, June 18, 1855.)

      "Steamer SEBASTOPOL. - This new freight steamer which made her first appearance on Friday, is now loading for Chicago. She was built and is owned by Messrs. Chisholme, Morrison & Moses of Cleveland, and is 245 feet in length, 37 feet 8 inches in beam, with a depth of hold of 12 feet 6 inches. Registering 8000 tons. Her engine was formerly in the SARATOGA."
