On Friday evening, as the stm. NIAGARA was going down the Detroit River, she ran into the BLOSSOM, laying at anchor near Malden. The brig sunk in a few minutes, leaving barely time for the crew and passengers to escape to the steamer. As the brig was struck, she swung round on the schr. G.T. WILLIAMS, slightly damaging her.
The LUCY A. BLOSSOM was loaded with 10,000 bu. corn from Chicago. Total loss
