Buffalo, August 21. - A dispatch from Quebec states that the lake schooner CITY OF MANITOWOC is ashore on Anticosti Island, at the mouth of the St. Lawrence. No particulars.
ANOTHER ACCOUNT
Quebec, August 21. - The three-masted schooner CITY OF MANITOWOC, from Pentwater, Mich., for Liverpool, is ashore and waterlogged at Ellis' Bay, Anticosti, and requires a steamer and steam pump to get off.

Homer Glass, of Racine, has gone to Quebec to look after the interests of the CITY OF MANITOWOC. Glass & Higgie, of Racine are the owners.

A TOTAL LOSS. - A letter received at Chicago states that the schooner CITY OF MANITOWOC will be a total loss, and also that more than three-fourths of her cargo will be lost. The schooner was bound across the Atlantic.

RELEASED AND ALL RIGHT. - Accounts now state that the CITY OF MANITOWOC is safe. The following dispatch is published in the Inter-Ocean:
"Racine, August 29. - A letter received here today from Homer Glass, now at Quebec, and owner of the CITY OF MANITOWOC, state that the vessel is all right, having been released from the beach. She will be towed to Quebec for needed repairs."
