The steamer PIERRPONT, which went from here to the assistance of the steamer GEORGE MOFFATT, ashore near Darlington, left Darlington on Friday morning, and arrived on the same night. She had some difficulty in making her way through the ice, but finally succeeded in breaking it as far as the Water Works Wharf, where she laid in the morning. The captain thinks that the upper works of the GEORGE MOFFATT, with which she was unable to do anything, will be broken up during the winter, but has hopes that the hull will be uninjured. - Kingston Whig.
