The barge N.C. HOLLAND, sunk near Houghton, with 22 feet of water over her decks, will be raised by Capt. H.W. Baker. He was awarded the contract by wire from the Tonawanda Iron & Steel Company last night. He will cofferdam the barge and will use the wrecker HURON CITY, now being prepared at the Detroit Dry-dock for fall weather. Baker expects to be at work by the first of the week and plans to have the barge on the surface in about six days. She will be delivered alongside some Houghton dock, ready to proceed with her cargo of hard coal.

THE HOLLAND RAISED. - Houghton, Nov. 18. - The barge HOLLAND, which sank in 40 feet of water in Portage Lake after colliding with the center pier of the drawbridge some weeks ago, was raised yesterday by Wrecking Master Harris G. Baker of Detroit. The HOLLAND will be taken to Duluth as soon as temporary repairs are made.

BARGE HOLLAND RAISED AND IN COMMISSION.
North Tonawanda, June 7. -- The barge N. C. HOLLAND of the Tonawanda Iron & Steel fleet arrived at the docks of her owner yesterday on its first trip since sinking in the Portage Lake at Houghton last fall. The HOLLAND collided with a pier at Houghton and sank. It was several months before the vessel was raised and dry-docked for extensive repairs.
