Ashtabula, Ohio, July 23. -- The stranded schooner SOPHIA MINCH was released from the beach today and will be towed to Cleveland at once to go into drydock. The MINCH has been on the sand a full year, and several ineffectual attempts have been made to get her into deep water. Capt. James Reid, with the wrecking tug SALVOR, has finally accomplished the release of the vessel. She is owned by Miles Barry of Chicago, who has spent several thousand dollars in wrecking operations. The SOPHIA MINCH was the property of the Minch Transit Company, and was bought by Captain Barry after she went ashore.

The MINCH will tow with Capt. Miles Barry's steamer GORDON CAMPBELL in the ore and coal trades.
