We learn by the Kingston Chronicle of the 28th ult., that the Hon. John Hamilton, who has done so much by his enterprise and skill, for the improvement of the steam navigation of Lake Ontario, has a new steamer which will be launched at Prescott, on the 7th of next month. She is intended to overcome the rapids of the St. Lawrence, as far as the cascades, which is within thirty miles of Montreal.
