Detroit Sept. 9 - The bodies of William Daniels and Edward Close, the two deck hands who lost their lives in the sinking of the stmr. H. HOUGHTON at her dock this morning, have been recovered. Capt. H.W. Baker, with the wrecker SNOOK, will endeavor to raise the boat.

      TWO LIVES ARE LOST
      Steam Barge Sank at her Pier in Detroit Today.
Detroit , Mich., Sept. 9. -- The steam barge H. HOUGHTON, owned in this city, sank at her dock, at the foot of Dubois street early today. Two of the crew were drowned in their berths. There names :-
      William Daniel, aged 16, no home.
      Edward Close, aged 18, Harbor beach, Mich.
      The HOUGHTON arrived last night from Kelly's Island in Lake Erie with a load of crushed stone.
