The wrecking stmr. RELIEF, Capt. Curtiss, has on hand the contract to raise the wreck of the LAC LA BELLE, which will be entered into as soon as there is a additional rise of water on the Flats. Accompanying the RELIEF is the schooner WATCHFUL, which is to serve as a lighter. - Detroit Post.

      The Coast Wrecking Company of New York have taken a contract for the raising of the steamer LAC LA BELLE, sunk in the St. Clair River near Algonac. Operations were to have begun today.

      The hull of the LAC LA BELLE was sold at auction Tuesday afternoon in Detroit for $23,600. N. Engelman of Milwaukee being the purchaser. She will be repaired immediately and next season be put into service again.

The LAC LA BELLE which was raised from the river this season has been repaired at Detroit at a cost of $14,000, and is to be put on the Grand Haven and Milwaukee route. Her cabins are not on yet but will be put on while she is in service. Her owner, Mr. Engelman, paid $23,000 for the boat at an auction sale and it is estimated that the boat when afloat with her cabins will be worth fully $75,000.
