CANAL BOATS ASHORE - the tug C.P. MOREY and Canal Boats IDA O. SAWER and M. CAVANAUGH went ashore Saturday morning above Big Sodus. The canal boats were laden with iron ore, from Bear Creek to this port, in tow of the tug, and in attempting to make Sodus in a gale went ashore as above stated. The CAVANAUGH is a total wreck, and the SAWYER is considerably damaged. Efforts are being made today to get off the latter. The tug was pulled off by the Revenue Cutter CHASE. - Oswego Times.
