Harbor Springs, Sept. 26. - The steamer GRACIE BARKER of the ferry line to Petoskey burned to the water's edge early this morning. The loss is about $8,000, with no insurance.

      The little ferry steamer GRACE BARKER burned at Harbor Springs last Thursday. Loss $8,000 with no insurance.

The little ferry steamer GRACIE BARKER, which burned last fall and was rebuilt during the winter, was launched last week.

Steam screw GRACIE BARKER. U. S. No. 85587. Of 73.32 tons gross; 49.07 tons net. Built at Grand Haven, Mich., in 1879. Home port, Grand Haven, Mich. 87.4 x 17.8 x 7.1 and 50 nominal horse power.

NOTE:-- The GRACIE BARKER, had to be rebuilt with a different name, she is not listed in the Merchant Vessel Lists, U.S. 1896, 97 or 98 under her old name.
