ANOTHER COLLISION. - At about 10:30 on Tuesday night the schooner W.H. ROUNDS ran into the schooner J.N. PORTER, anchored in the river abreast of Thirteenth Street, and carried away the latter's jibboom, topsail yard and forearm, and tore her jibs into shreds. The damage to the PORTER will amount to $75. The ROUNDS had her mainsail split and mainboom unshipped; damage about $50... When the collision occurred the PORTER had but a short time previous left her dock, where she had loaded 70 tons of stone for Port Huron, and was waiting for a tug to tow her up. The ROUNDS was sailing down the river, and her captain claims that he was trying to round to for ancorage when she struck the PORTER. The vessels coming foul of one another drifted down the river to about opposite Sandwich Point, where the PORTER barely escaped being sunk by a tug having several vessels in tow, bound down. The PORTER, being helpless could do nothing, but by good management on the part of the tug a collision was averted. The PORTER is now at Jones' shipyard, Springwells, being repaired. The ROUNDS passed on. She is bound for Oswego with a cargo of grain.
