S. B. Conklin (Scow), squall damage, 16 Aug 1878

Description
Full Text

THE CONEKLIN IN TROUBLE - As yet, scarcely any reports reach here of damages caused by the late squall. The tug HERCULES reported yesterday having spoken the scow S.B. CONEKLIN at anchor near the mouth of the river, with her mainsail torn to shreds, the result of Friday's blow, but beyond that nothing has been heard. Reports agree in stating that the blows on both Thursday and Friday were terrific in some places.
