John Sweeney (Bark), collision, 30 Jun 1856

Description
Full Text

GOOD TIME. - The bark J. SWEENEY, Capt. Jeffords, left Chicago on Friday of last week, and made the run to St. Clair Flats in 69 hours and 45 minutes, where in consequence of a collision she grounded. This is but little short of the CANADA's famous time and from what we know of Capt. Jeffords we believe he would have equalled the CANADA's trip but for the accident referred to.
