Sault Ste. Marie, Dec. 1. - The freighter MONKSHAVEN of the Algoma Central Line, which left here on Sunday for Fort William for a grain cargo, was wrecked near Pie Island, Lake Superior, on Monday. The crew arrived at Fort William last night.

      STEAMER MONKSHAVEN MAY BE TOTAL LOSS.
Fort William. June 22. --The wrecking tug JAMES REID has arrived here from Duluth to attempt to release the steamer MONKSHAVEN, which was blown ashore on Pie Island during the big storm last fall, The steamer is in very bad shape and may be a total loss.

The stm. MONKSHAVEN, which was blown ashore at Pie Island, Lake Superior in the fall of 1905, is likely to be a total loss. The steamer was owned by the Algoma Central and Hudson Bay Railway, was built in Great Britain in 1882 was 1,414 gross tons.

      MONKSHAVEN IS AFLOAT ONCE MORE.
Fort William, Ont., Aug. 10 -- The steamer MONKSHAVEN, which was wrecked near Isle Royal in the big storm of last November, was floated yesterday and will be taken to Duluth shipyards. The craft is damaged to the extent of $20,000.
