Ashland, Dec. 9. - While working on the stranded steamer COREY at Gull Island yesterday, the steamer SIEMENS also went on the rocks and tore a hole in her bottom plating. She was released and left for Duluth with her two after-compartments filled with water, changing her draft from 14 feet to 17 and a half feet. A north-east storm struck the wrecking fleet and all had to scurry for shelter. The SIEMENS went to Duluth, accompanied by the CAMBRIA, and the rest of the boats are sheltering behind neighboring islands.
